How is Ace-K used?

When more than one artificial sweeteners are combined, it helps in masking the bitter taste. While other sweeteners break down when heated, Ace-K does not. It must be noted that when we consume Ace-K, the body does not break it down. It absorbs Ace-K and then passes it out of the body through urine.

Is it safe to consume Acesulfame Potassium?

It is safe to consume foods that have Ace-K in them? To know the answer to this question, it is important to know about the effects of this substance on our body. It must be noted that the FDA has approved the use of Ace-K as a sweetener, which ensures it is safe to consume. When Ace-K is used, it leads to no weight gain since it has no calories. It also does not cause tooth decay that sugar may cause. It also does not increase blood sugar levels and can be used by diabetics.

However, some potential health impacts of Ace-K needs to be known.

Some studies done on mice showed that Ace-K led to weight gain. It is believed that Ace-K causes changes in the gut bacterial composition. This can cause inflammation and may lead to obesity. It is believed to have a negative impact on pregnant women and can increase the risk of childhood obesity for the child. More research is yet to be done on this.
